“Do you have a medical background?”
This is probably the question I am asked most often. The answer is no. I am not a doctor or nurse, nor have I studied medicine, biology, or any healthcare-related subject. I am an interior designer.
I have always worked in design. I am used to solving problems through design and enjoy using stories to communicate ideas.
One day, I began to notice that more and more people around me were gradually neglecting their own well-being because of work-related stress, the fast pace of life, or physical discomfort. That was how Organ Family was born.
Through these adorable organ characters, I hope to share messages about health, emotions, and care—things that are not always easy to put into words—in a light-hearted and heart-warming way.
I am not here to teach health knowledge from the perspective of a healthcare professional. I simply want to speak as a designer, a storyteller, and someone who, like everyone else, is doing their best to navigate life. Through my creations, I hope to offer a gentle reminder: taking good care of every organ means taking good care of yourself.
If these characters can make you smile, encourage you to pause and take a breath, or inspire you to care a little more about your body and the people around you, that is already more than enough for me.
At first, I simply wanted to give the leftover transparent plastic sheets from production a new purpose, so I turned them into a few adorable organ characters.
With a “Why not give it a try?” mindset, I decided to produce them locally in Hong Kong in small quantities and see whether people would like them. Fortunately, the response was even more encouraging than I had imagined.
This inspired me to create more organ characters. Little by little, Organ Family grew from just a few members into the family it is today.
Along the way, I joined many local markets, where I met healthcare professionals from a wide range of fields. They shared fascinating knowledge and real-life stories with me, giving me plenty of inspiration for new creations.
Organ Family is more than just my own creation—it is a brand that has grown together with everyone who has supported it.
Through these adorable organ characters, I hope to help more people learn about their bodies in a light-hearted and engaging way. I also hope to show that caring about our health does not have to begin with illness. It can begin with a smile, a story, or even a little organ character.
In the future, I hope even more people will help carry the warmth of Organ Family forward.
